About PRIDE

PRIDE stands for People Respecting Individual Diversity Everywhere and is the civil rights group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and straight ally students at the University of Evansvile.

PRIDE has been an active student group at the University of Evansville since 1998. The group is committed to creating a safe campus for LGBT members of the UE community, promoting awareness and understanding of issues facing LGBT individuals, and providing a social and suppport network for LGBT students. PRIDE believes that a diverse university is a strong university.

Membership is open to all LGBT-friendly students and faculty with the payment of dues fee. "LGBT-friendly" means that members don't judge people based soley on sexual orientation and are willing to listen to or even participate in discussions or events that are gay-themed (such as a movie or information table). This requirement insures that our LGBT members have a safe space on campus in which they can be sure that peopole surrounding them will not judge, mock, or otherwise harm them.
